FAQ

01. LOGISTICS & TRAVEL

Do you travel for weddings?

Absolutely. While we are based in Midtown NYC, we frequently document celebrations worldwide.

Local: Travel within 50 miles of our studio is complimentary.

Beyond: For locations outside this radius, a standard travel fee applies.

Destination: For international or long-distance commissions, our team manages all travel logistics (flights, accommodations, local transport) internally, offering you a seamless, all-inclusive flat rate so you can focus solely on your celebration.

Is your company insured?

Yes. We carry full liability insurance (up to $2M). We are happy to provide a Certificate of Insurance (C.O.I.) to your venue upon request.

02. ARTISTARY & PROCESS

Can we provide a specific shot list?

We strongly encourage a list for Family Formals to ensure no important relative is missed. However, for the rest of the day, we work best with a "documentary & editorial" approach. Working off a strict checklist can be distracting and may cause us to miss the authentic, fleeting moments that define our style. We ask that you trust our artistic eye to capture the comprehensive story of your day.

How do permits work for location shoots?

New York City and many surrounding areas require photography permits for specific locations. While we can certainly recommend beautiful spots and guide you through the selection process, the client is responsible for securing any necessary permits and associated fees.

What if there are venue restrictions?

We are very experienced in working with various religious and secular venues. If you provide us with the venue’s rules in advance, we will respect them fully. Our priority is to document your ceremony beautifully without ever becoming a distraction.

Do you offer engagement sessions?

Yes, most of our collections include an Editorial Engagement Session. We believe this is crucial for building rapport before the big day.

Scheduling: You can select your preferred dates via our client portal.

Flexibility: If you prefer to opt-out, we can apply a credit towards additional wedding day coverage or fine art albums. (We do not offer cash discounts, but value reallocation).

03. DELIVERABLES & TIMELINE

What is the turnaround time?

We know you are eager to relive the magic.

Teaser: A curated set of teaser images and a social media trailer will be ready within 1 week.

Final Collection: Your full gallery of retouched high-resolution images and cinematic films will be delivered within 12-14 weeks via a private online gallery and cloud archive.

Note: We no longer use physical USBs to ensure data stability and easy sharing.

Do I own the photos? (Copyright) Cly by Chung Studio retains the copyright to all images as the creator. However, you are granted Personal Usage Rights. This means you are free to print, share on social media, and create albums for personal use as much as you like.

04. peace of mind

What happens in case of an emergency?

Your peace of mind is paramount. HSC Studio is a collective of top-tier professionals. In the unlikely event of an emergency or illness, we have a dedicated team of lead-level associates ready to step in seamlessly, ensuring your coverage is never compromised.

05. How do we book you for the wedding?

To secure your date, we require a signed contract and a non-refundable retainer (usually 30-50%). Dates are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

06. Do you provide raw files?

We deliver high-resolution JPEGs that are color-graded and finished to our signature style. We do not provide RAW/Unedited files, as the editing process is half of our artistry. Exception: RAW video footage is available in specific collections.

07. DO WE NEED TO PROVIDE MEALS FOR THE TEAM?

Yes, please. For coverage lasting longer than 5 hours, we require a hot meal for our team members. We prefer to be fed at the same time as the bride and groom so that we are ready to capture the speeches and dancing that follow immediately.
